Perfection is where good blogs go to die. Here’s how to know you’re ready to publish, no crystal ball required.
1) You can say your 30-day sentence out loud
“For the next 30 days, I help [who] do [what] so they can [result].”
If that sentence doesn’t make you cringe, it’s good enough.
2) You can list four post ideas in five minutes
- A how-to that removes the first roadblock
- A story/teardown that shows a working example
- A template/checklist that saves 20 minutes
- A decision guide that helps readers pick a path
3) Your lead magnet naturally bridges to a tiny product
Example: Finish Line Starter Pack (free) → Paid Newsletter ($7). If the transition makes sense to you, it will make sense to readers.
4) You can define “done” for this month
“Done = four posts published, Starter Pack promoted in each, Kickoff Checklist offered on the thank-you page.” Clear. Achievable. Trackable.
5) You can visualize a small win
Before: “I’m spiraling on niche.” After: “I picked a focus, published weekly, and have 3 members.” If you can picture it, you can move toward it.
What if you’re missing one sign?
- Missing the sentence? Use the 3-Question Filter (who, paragraph-problem, 20-minute win).
- Missing a product? Turn your most useful post into a one-page checklist.
- Missing confidence? Borrow mine: nobody knows what they’re doing at the start; the difference is who publishes.
Pick one project, map your next 3 steps, and get a quick hit of progress.
