You don’t need a capital-N Niche before you start. You need direction, a working theme you can commit to for 30 days. Direction beats perfection because direction gets you publishing, and publishing gives you data. Data decides the niche later.
Why “direction” works (and niche-hunting doesn’t)
Niche hunting = spiral. Direction = momentum. When you commit for 30 days, you create a small laboratory: four posts, eight emails (Monday Action + Friday Reflection), and one tiny offer. That’s enough signal to know “keep, tweak, or toss.”
The 3-Question Direction Filter (10 minutes)
- Who can you help fastest? Think: the people already DM’ing you for advice.
 - What problem can you explain in one paragraph? Start: “If you’re trying to ___, here’s the next step…”
 - What tiny win can you deliver in 20 minutes? Checklist, template, prompt sheet, or mini guide.

Circle the combo that feels doable + valuable. That’s your 30-day direction.
Write your 30-day sentence (and paste it everywhere)
“For the next 30 days, I help [who] do [what] so they can [result].”
This becomes your About blurb, your newsletter header, and your inner compass when 47 tabs (and opinions) try to hijack your week.
Sample directions you can steal
- Help multipassionates pick one project and ship a tiny deliverable.
 - Help new bloggers publish four posts without niche panic.
 - Help creators launch a $7 checklist to prove people pay.

Your first month plan (simple and repeatable)
- Week 1: Publish Why I’m Building This (anchor)
 - Week 2: How-to that removes the first roadblock
 - Week 3: Story/teardown that shows what “good” looks like
 - Week 4: Checklist or template tied to your direction

Common traps to dodge
- “I’m multi-passionate!” Cool. Pick one passion for 30 days. The others aren’t going anywhere.
 - “What if I choose wrong?” Wrong for whom? You’ll look at opens, clicks, and small purchases—then adjust.
 - “I need a perfect brand first.” No you don’t. Words first. Pixels later.
